A good dehydrator will help you preserve your garden gains. They make drying easier, faster, more organized and more efficient. They are especially handy for spices and fruits. Here is list of various dehydrators available on the market:
The Nesco American Harvest FD-1010 Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator is perhaps the best dehydrator commercially available. Four trays are included, but the dehydrator will accomodate many more. The 1000 watt unit dries faster than most other units, without cooking the produce.
The L'Equip 528 Food Dehydrator has an adjustable thermostat, 12 square feet of tray space and a high speed temp sensor to ensure even drying. It is rectangular rather than round and is solidly built. A nice machine.
