Vac Sealer Safety
Tilia is the premier maker of FoodSavers
Like any other method of preserving foods, the vac sealer must be used with a certain amount of caution and common sense. Clean, ripe and properly prepared foods are an important place to begin.
Always read the instruction manual that comes with your vac sealer. Keep it away from wet surfaces and avoid sucking liquids or powders in the vacuum. Properly clean and maintain your machine with every use.
When sealing foods, make certain that a proper seal has been made. Unsealed food can spoil quickly or suffer from freezer burn.
Be sure to label food as to both contents and date. Be aware of how long specific foods will stay fresh. It is best to rotate food properly. Generally, use a first-in-first-out system to maximize the effectiveness of your Vac Sealing efforts.
